-     WHO AM I  YOU ASK    -

Model with Hat

Having been in the entertainment industry since leaving school. I trained as an actor in the UK, working mostly in theatre. I have written and performed on the alternative comedy circuit, but decided eating food was preferable to having it thrown at me! Following my passion as a singer, I toured the world,  living mainly in Canada for ten years acting and writing.

Moving to now, I currently work as Marketing Exec for celebrity comedian; with whom I am also writing scripts for submission to TV and radio. I have also founded "Theatre of the Mind Productions" so I can have a global audience, as I am working on new comedy sketches and plays for the radio.

Example Sound : Extract 2

Actor, writer, singer, comedian. VO work inc radio commercials and news reading. Taught American accents to Canadians at ACTRA. Member of ACTRA and EQUITY. Good sense of comic timing, having written and performed on the stand-up circuit myself. I have a good range of accents including British (most regional dialects and BBC English), Scottish (soft Edinburgh and harder edged Glaswegian) Irish (Northern and Southern) and Welsh. European accents including French, German, Italian. American accents (Generic American, New York, Southern). I have mostly worked in regional theatres as an actress and performed for many years as a singer, both of which have helped by vocal range, so can easily switch from high to low, young to old. Accents are one thing, getting the character's personality to come to life as the author has portrayed them is vital, so I also concentrate on getting that across in how the character speaks, so their personality is apparent by their pitch, speed and delivery of their dialogue.

Performance Notes
Curmudgeon Avenue: (Harold's sister), Shania's aspirations to grandeur are apparent in her change of name from Sharon to Shania. Hard and determined her attempts at a more refined accent are abandoned when she loses her temper and her heavy Radcliffe accent comes through.
